The Hospitality Assistant Level 1 is a (1) one-year general Hospitality Service and Accommodations program.
This program is designed for students who are passionate about:

Exploring their next step after VSBO or NIPA Cook Level 2 program.
Great hospitality service means understanding how the industry works and being flexible. With Hospitality Assistant program you can gain the knowledge and learn multiple front-of-the-House/Accommodations skills.
While it is a stand-alone program, The Hospitality Assistant Level 1 Program also functions as a stepping stone for students who wish to continue toward more advanced studies such as the NIPA Culinary Level 2 program.

The main responsibility is to support service teams and contribute to a smooth by applying the service and accommodations skills they are taught. Hospitality Assistants support day-to-day operations in areas like Food and Beverage services, Front office and Accommodations. Assistants are expected to show initiative, follow supervisor guidance and help create a welcoming environment for guests.
Tasks range from basic customer service to supporting the smooth operation of front- of the house and Accommodations hospitality services. Assistants follow standard operating procedures while staying alert and responsive to guest needs. This includes helping with room setup, service area cleanliness, guest communication, and basic operational tasks. The role requires attentiveness, patience, professionalism, and the ability to adapt in a dynamic service environment.
Hospitality Assistants build a wide range of entry-level skills that are essential in hotels, restaurants, and other hospitality settings.

Customer Service – Understanding guest needs, delivering quality support, and resolving issues with care

Front Office Support – Assisting with reception tasks, guest check-ins, and providing basic information

Accommodation Assistance – Supporting room preparation, cleanliness standards, and guest comfort

Food & Beverage Service – Setting tables, serving food and drinks, clearing, and maintaining service flow

Teamwork – Collaborating with others in a busy environment and contributing to smooth operations

The Hospitality Assistant Level 1 program combines classroom learning with hands-on training in real hospitality settings. Students practice skills through simulation-based service days, where they take on rotating roles in Food and Beverage service and guest support. Training emphasizes real-world etiquette, teamwork, and professional standards.
Students also complete an internship as part of the program,. This gives them the chance to apply what they’ve learned in a real businesses, build new skills on the job, and get a firsthand look at how the local hospitality industry. Internships help students grow their confidence, connect with potential employers, and often lead to job offers after graduation.Upon successful completion of the Hospitality Assistant Level 1 program, students will receive an official Diploma for Hospitality Assistant.
(This program is designed as a strong foundation year. Many graduates move on to advanced programs in Culinary Arts, Tourism or begin working immediately because of the experience they gained in the programs)
