Frequently Asked Questions
Find quick answers about NIPA’s programs, admission, and student life below.
NIPA is an institute for technical-vocational education, offering hands-on learning and practical skills for various career paths.
Some programs are offered exclusively during the day or in the evening, while others provide the flexibility to choose between both. Students are required to select their preferred schedule—day or evening—when enrolling in a program. Schedule availability may vary by program and is subject to change based on demand and capacity.
Students who successfully complete all program requirements—including all partial qualifications—will be awarded a diploma. Students who do not fulfill all program requirements but complete one or more partial qualifications will receive a certificate of partial qualification, reflecting the competencies achieved.
Go to the admission page for the enrollment details, application forms, and deadlines. You can also contact the admissions office directly at +1 (721) 543-0497 / 543-0498.
At NIPA the language of instruction is English.
Yes. Some programs have specific requirements that may involve additional costs. For example, students in the Skills Lab are required to purchase hard-toe shoes, while nursing students may need to cover the cost of vaccinations and health screenings. Certain programs also require uniforms or scrubs. Detailed information about these additional expenses will be provided prior to the start of your program.
All students are required to complete practical training as part of their program. For day students, internships are arranged by NIPA’s Job Coach Coordinator at approved partner organizations. Evening students must already be employed in a relevant field and are required to work a minimum of 24 hours per week (equivalent to three 8-hour shifts). These work hours count toward their internship requirement. Regardless of the pathway, all students are expected to complete assigned internship tasks and assessments as part of their hands-on learning experience.
Yes. Students under the age of 18 may enroll at NIPA if they have obtained a high school diploma. For individuals who have not earned a high school diploma by age 18, enrollment in one of our Level 1 programs may be considered as an alternative pathway.
NIPA’s academic year spans 40 weeks, similar to other educational institutions. The year is divided into four quarters, each lasting 10 weeks, allowing for structured and focused learning throughout the program.
Day classes are typically scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., while evening classes run between 5:15 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Class schedules usually change every 10 weeks, aligning with the start of each new quarter.
Yes. NIPA generally follows the official school breaks and public holidays as outlined by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth, and Sport. Any exceptions will be communicated to students in advance.
No. To maintain a focused and distraction-free learning environment for all students, children are not permitted in classrooms or on campus during class hours.
Yes. Regular attendance is mandatory, and students are expected to attend all scheduled classes. If you are unable to attend, you must inform your mentor as soon as possible. Please note that attendance below 80% may result in the forfeiture of the right to re-sit exams.
Unfortunately, NIPA is not fully accessible for persons with physical disabilities, particularly those who use wheelchairs. We recognize the importance of inclusive education and are actively exploring ways to improve accessibility across our campus.
